On the 19th August 2010, Lloyds Banking Group plc, announced its intention to close Bank of Scotland Ireland Limited on the 31st December 2010. On the 31st December 2010, all the assets and liabilities of Bank of Scotland Ireland Limited transferred into Bank of Scotland plc through a merger and Bank of Scotland Ireland Limited ceased to exist.
