Firstly check your link was received, and that your friend or family member has made the payment. Payments normally arrive within 2 hours. If the payment still hasn't been received, please ask them to check with their bank first.
No, they can bank with another UK bank.
Yes. Link Pay uses Open Banking which is a way you can safely share information with other banks. You can find out more about Open Banking here.
You should never open a message from someone you do not know. And if you have any doubts about the identity of someone contacting you, make sure you speak to them first using a number you trust.
For Bank of Scotland current account holders, Link Pay is a payment service that we offer as part of your current account and so there are no additional terms and conditions.
