Approved car dealers

Find approved car dealers

There are approved car dealerships across Scotland and the rest of the UK, from local independents to bigger national companies.

  • If you’ve already found a car you like, enter the dealer’s name, location or postcode to check they’re on our approved list.
  • If you haven’t found a car yet, search for approved dealers using your town, city or postcode.
  • If you find a dealership on our map, they’re on our approved list. You can select the dealership when you arrange your car finance in your Internet Banking.

Can’t find your car dealer?

If your preferred car dealer isn’t on our approved list, you can ask us to add them.

We always aim to reply within 48 hours, but it might take longer if we receive your request at the weekend or on a bank holiday.

Although most car dealerships are approved, there are some dealerships we don’t offer finance for at the moment, including:

  • Cinch
  • Motorpoint

If we can’t add your dealer, or you’re buying from a private seller, we may be able to offer you a personal loan.

What happens next?

When you’ve found a car at one of our approved dealers, your next step is to get a Bank of Scotland car finance quote.

You can do that online in a few minutes, with no impact to your credit score.

Another borrowing option might suit you better

At the moment, we only offer finance for cars sold by approved dealers.

Another borrowing option might be better for you if:

  • You’re thinking of buying a commercial vehicle, motorcycle, caravan or motor home.
  • We can’t add your preferred car dealer to our approved list.
  • You want to buy a car from a private seller.

If car finance isn’t right for you, explore our other ways to borrow, including personal loans.
