Helping Scottish communities prosper

Since November 2010, the Bank of Scotland Foundation has provided over £32 million to almost 2,500 charities making positive change across Scotland, enabling over 1.2 million people to benefit from a variety of much needed local services and personal support.

As an independent charity, Bank of Scotland Foundation receives an annual donation from Lloyds Banking Group as part of the Group's commitment to Helping Scotland Prosper. Bank of Scotland Foundation donates these funds to charities across Scotland through its Grants Programmes and a Matched Giving Programme for Lloyds Banking Group employees in Scotland.

Our case studies

Cranhill Development Trust

Glasgow based charity, Cranhill Development Trust, provides vital services and activities to meet the changing needs of its local community.

Last year they trialled a project to address the increased issues of financial insecurity following the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. During the 12 month pilot, Cranhill Development Trust provided tailored individual support to 466 people over 3200 times.

In 2022, Cranhill Development Trust received a Reach grant of £24,924 from Bank of Scotland Foundation for their Welfare Officer, Margaret. This enabled them to further support the community and help tackle poverty and address social exclusion.

Indepen-dance

Glasgow charity, Indepen-dance, is an inclusive dance development charity that provides opportunities for people of all abilities to enjoy and reach their potential through dance.

They received a five year Invest grant from Bank of Scotland Foundation in 2022 totalling £175,000 for salary costs of their Dance Artist and Studio Coordinator. These posts enabled them to deliver in-person weekly creative movement classes and online classes, as well as develop their new dance studio which provides a centralised space for inclusive access to activities and wellbeing services.
