Applying for a new or amending an existing overdraft
An overdraft is where, as part of our overall service, we may lend you money through your current account.
Arranged overdraft - an arranged overdraft is an overdraft up to an agreed limit, which you arrange with us in advance. It is subject to application and approval and there will normally be charges for using it. If you are approved for an arranged overdraft, the first part of this overdraft may have an interest-free amount. This varies by account type and is not available for certain accounts. You will not be charged daily arranged overdraft interest if you stay within the interest-free amount of your arranged overdraft.
You can apply for an arranged overdraft through Internet Banking or Mobile Banking using our simple online application process. If your application is approved, you will be able to start using your arranged overdraft straightaway.
To apply online, please log in and select “more actions” next to the account you would like to set up an arranged overdraft on. From here you can follow our easy to understand on-screen instructions.
Once arranged, your overdraft limit can be seen on the 'Your accounts' page next to the relevant account. Your overdraft limit is also displayed on the pages where you carry out most online transactions.

You can view your current arranged overdraft limit on the 'Your accounts' page next to the relevant account.
To apply online to change an existing arranged overdraft go to the account which has the Arranged Overdraft Limit set up on it and select ‘Overdraft’. From here you can follow the on-screen instructions to be able to reduce, cancel or apply to increase your existing Arranged Overdraft limit.
